This past weekend saw the update for free windows 10 upgrade come and go.
While this tech is still on the fence in running what in my mind amounts to malware, I will not hold anyone back who wishes to trade their privacy for Microsoft's "free" offering.
While the official free upgrade offer has ended, there is a little known loophole for users of "assistive technologies". By heading over to the Microsoft Accessibility Site and downloading this file and running it, the upgrade will commence without any checks.
After failing to get the 1 billion installed upgrades, falling short by over 600 million, Microsoft's not checking into who's running accessibility options.
While they haven't announced an end date to these upgrades yet, you can expect they will at some point. So if you missed out on the free upgrade, have no fear, the docs got your back!
Also tomorrow, expect the anniversary update for Windows 10 to roll out. This update will include Cortana improvements, Windows Ink, Microsoft Edge extensions, and many more tweaks and new features.
Existing Windows 10 users will start receiving the update automatically from Windows Update tomorrow morning.
A very good write up of top windows 10 anniversary update features if you are interested in reading more about this "service pack".
